BOSS co-owner, Jeff Street, chats with 94.9 WSJM News/Talk/Sports morning show host Jim Gifford about all things spring this week! They’re not just talking about HVAC systems, but they discuss what you can do overall to get your home and yard ready for spring. Now’s the time to get these tasks done before the hot and humid Southwest Michigan summer weather gets here.
So where to start for spring maintenance? Jeff and Jim discuss yard maintenance first: Everything from checking your roof, to trimming plants and trees and cleaning gutters, to rolling mole hills in your lawn.
When it comes to spring maintenance checks inside the home, safety definitely comes first, like testing your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to make sure they’re working properly.
Last but not least, make sure to examine your sump pump, especially if it runs often. You might consider putting a second pump in for a back-up if you have a pump that runs all the time so if one fails, the other pump will turn on. An extra pump is definitely a great insurance policy to have to prevent flooding in your basement!
